Nita M Ambani, the Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, received the esteemed KISS Humanitarian Award 2025 at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) campus. The award was presented by Nobel Laureate Mohan Munasinghe from Sri Lanka on March 17, in the presence of Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS. The ceremony was attended by numerous institutional officials, students, and dignitaries.

This award recognizes Nita Ambani’s exemplary humanitarian initiatives and her pivotal role in advancing social development in areas like education, healthcare, rural transformation, women empowerment, and sports through the Reliance Foundation. During the event, Ambani spoke to the 40,000 students at KISS, expressing her gratitude for their warmth and support. The KISS Humanitarian Award, established in 2008 by Samanta, serves as the highest honor of KISS, aimed at celebrating individuals and organizations that exemplify humanitarian values globally. The award includes a citation scroll and a gold-plated trophy that symbolizes a humanitarian’s golden heart, embodying principles of purity, kindness, prosperity, and hope. The trophy’s design features hands lifting a heart textured with patterns resembling waving hands, illustrating how devoted efforts can uplift underprivileged communities.

Honorary Doctorate from KIIT University

In addition to the humanitarian award, KIIT University also awarded Nita M Ambani an Honorary Doctorate (D.Litt. Honoris Causa) in recognition of her transformative philanthropic contributions and influence on social development. The felicitation ceremony at KIIT University in Bhubaneswar was attended by Sarabjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor of KIIT, along with Achyuta Samanta, the founder of the university.
