The police presence outside Udhayanidhi Stalin’s residence in Neelankarai, Chennai, heightened on August 4 after the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) called for statewide protests. Udhayanidhi, who serves as the Leader of the Opposition in Tamil Nadu, is facing scrutiny due to comments he allegedly made during a protest.

According to reports, the heightened police deployment was confirmed by Additional Commissioner of Police Narendran Nair IPS. This action was taken as a precautionary measure in response to potential disturbances that could arise from the TVK’s planned protests against Udhayanidhi.

Police personnel were stationed outside the residence to prevent any untoward incidents, illustrating the authorities’ commitment to maintaining public order in light of the unfolding situation.

Complaint Filed Over Alleged Remarks

The controversy began when the women’s wing of TVK lodged a complaint at the Thanjavur police station against Udhayanidhi Stalin. They claimed that during a demonstration in Thanjavur, he made inappropriate remarks concerning actor Trisha Krishnan, which they interpreted as a double entendre.

Following the filing of the complaint, an FIR was reportedly registered against him. The women’s wing of TVK demanded action against Udhayanidhi, arguing that his words were both disrespectful and damaging.
