Newlywed Woman Disappears from Moradabad Bus; Husband Suspects Involvement of Lover

The CSR Journal Magazine

A newly married woman has mysteriously gone missing from a bus at the Bilari bus stand in Moradabad district, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred when she allegedly instructed her husband to step down for a moment to purchase snacks. Upon his return, he found her seat empty, leading to a missing person report filed with local authorities.

Details of the Disappearance

The missing woman, identified as Rimjhim, is 18 years old and hails from Sagarpur village in the Rampur district. She married Peetam Singh, a resident of Osamafi village in Amroha district, on December 1, 2025. Rimjhim had returned to her parental home approximately a week before the incident to celebrate the Holi festival. Peetam Singh visited her village on March 9 to escort her back home.

Timeline of Events

On their journey back, the couple took a bus from Saifni to the Bilari bus stand, where they boarded a roadways bus to reach Moradabad. The bus arrived at Bilari around 2 PM, and during the stop, Rimjhim expressed her desire for pakoras and asked Peetam to buy them along with some water from a nearby canteen. When Peetam returned shortly after, he discovered that Rimjhim was missing from her seat.

Search Efforts and Police Involvement

After realizing his wife had disappeared, Peetam attempted to contact her mobile phone, only to find it switched off. He questioned fellow passengers, who informed him that Rimjhim had been speaking on her phone and subsequently exited the bus. Following unsuccessful attempts to locate her in the bus stand and its surroundings, Peetam proceeded to the Bilari police station to file a complaint.

Allegations of Elopement

In his complaint, Peetam expressed concern that Rimjhim may have left with a man named Imran, residing in the same Sagarpur village. According to her husband, Rimjhim is about 5 feet 3 inches tall, has a fair complexion, and is educated up to the intermediate level. Peetam’s father mentioned that there had been no previous indications of such an incident, and the family had not expressed any suspicions prior to the disappearance.

Ongoing Investigation

The Bilari police have officially registered a missing person case based on Peetam Singh’s complaint. Investigative efforts into Rimjhim’s whereabouts have been assigned to Sub-Inspector Vineet Kumar, who is actively working on leads to locate her. Police officials are focused on gathering more information regarding the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
