Samsung has unveiled its latest range of premium tablets in India, named the Galaxy Tab S12 series. This new lineup comprises two models: the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, both designed to enhance productivity with sleek designs and expansive AMOLED displays. Each device comes included with an S Pen, catering to users who seek advanced features.

The Galaxy Tab S12 series follows the previous Galaxy Tab S11 series, introducing several significant improvements. Samsung has focused on refining the specifications and capabilities of both devices, aiming to provide users with a high-quality experience tailored for both work and entertainment.

Pricing Details for the Galaxy Tab S12 Devices

The pricing for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series varies based on storage and connectivity options. The starting price for the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus is Rs 1,29,999 for the basic WiFi variant, which offers 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The next variant in this range, featuring 512GB of storage, is priced at Rs 1,49,999. For those interested in cellular capabilities, the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus 5G model is available at Rs 1,44,999 for the base configuration and Rs 1,64,999 for the 512GB model.

In contrast, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra starts at Rs 1,49,999 for the WiFi-only 12GB256GB option. The 512GB version in this series costs Rs 1,69,999. Both tablets allow for storage expansion via microSD cards of up to 2TB. The cellular models of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra commence at Rs 1,64,999 for the base configuration, with the top variant costing Rs 1,84,999.

At launch, promotional offers include a bank cashback of Rs 5,000 and an upgrade bonus of up to Rs 5,000, enhancing the attractiveness of these premium devices.

Specifications and Features of the Galaxy Tab S12 Series

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra showcases a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, featuring a resolution of 2960 x 1848 and a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus offers a 12.6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1752, also supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. Both models can achieve peak brightness levels of up to 1600 nits.

In terms of construction, each tablet features a sturdy aluminium unibody design, available in Silver or Grey. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is notably slim at 5.1mm thick, weighing 692 grams for the WiFi model and 695 grams for the 5G version. The Tab S12 Plus is slightly thicker at 5.3mm and weighs 553 grams with WiFi and 555 grams for 5G. Both devices boast an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and include the S Pen in the packaging.

Under the hood, both models are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, manufactured using a 3nm process. Samsung claims that this chipset offers substantial improvements, including a 61 per cent enhancement in NPU performance and a 19 per cent increase in CPU speed compared to previous models. Battery life is also a highlight; the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra houses an 11,600mAh battery, while the Tab S12 Plus includes a 10,600mAh cell, supporting 45W charging that can fully recharge the devices in approximately 95 minutes with a compatible adapter.

Camera capabilities include a dual rear camera setup on the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, consisting of a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The Tab S12 Plus features a 13-megapixel rear camera alongside a 12-megapixel ultra-wide front-facing camera. Both tablets also include quad speakers that support 4-channel spatial audio, aimed at enhancing audio experiences.

Operating on Android 17 with One UI 9, the Galaxy Tab S12 series integrates advanced software features such as Galaxy AI for productivity enhancements. Samsung has pledged to offer up to seven years of OS upgrades and security updates for both devices. The Galaxy Tab S12 series will be available for purchase starting from October 7 through various sales channels, including Samsung’s official website and select retail outlets.
