Acharya Pramod Krishnam, the Peethadhishwar of Kalki Dham located in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, has recently claimed that he received a death threat from an individual associated with the banned Khalistani terrorist group Babbar Khalsa International. This allegation was made public during a press conference held at the premises of Kalki Dham.

Krishnam stated that the threatening message was sent to him via WhatsApp from an international phone number two days prior to the conference. The individual allegedly identified himself as Kulbir Singh Sidhu, threatening to use explosives and rocket launchers against him. The audio message, presented in Punjabi, has reportedly been forwarded to various security agencies.

These include the Union Home Ministry and local police forces. The content of the audio reportedly linked the threat to Krishnam’s plans to unveil a statue of Guru Gobind Singh, a respected Sikh warrior and former guru, at Kalki Dham. He expressed his determination to proceed with this initiative despite the threats received.

Reactions and Public Statements

During the press briefing, Krishnam made it clear that he intended to honour his commitment to install the statue alongside representations of other significant figures in history. He expressed that the threats would not deter him from fulfilling this promise. “If my life is sacrificed, the construction of Kalki Dham should not stop,” he stated while urging authorities.

These include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, to safeguard the project. Additionally, he mentioned that the caller had referred to earlier acts of violence, which he believes are connected to the threat he received.

However, he acknowledged that these claims have not been independently verified and advised caution in interpreting the nature of the threat. Krishnam also indicated that he had previously received calls from various international numbers but had not regarded those interactions with much seriousness. Nevertheless, he noted that the contents of the latest audio raised alarms, prompting him to take the situation seriously and approach law enforcement and security agencies for assistance.

Background of Kalki Dham

The foundation stone for Kalki Dham in Aichoda Kamboh, Sambhal, was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 19, 2024, during a ceremony attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The establishment aims at promoting spiritual and cultural activities in the region.
