These venues boast polished furniture and striking architectural details, presenting an atmosphere of luxury that feels surreal against the backdrop of destruction.

Many of these cafés appear to commemorate wealth generated from the war, particularly amongst individuals engaged in illicit activities. The juxtaposition of their luxury with the prevailing despair of the majority of Gaza’s populace signifies a growing economic divide within the region.
