Marriage dispute drove Pakistani youth across Indo-Pak border into Rajasthan

A 26-year-old Pakistani national, Mohammad Avesh, a resident of Mithi city in Pakistan entered India via the Indo-Pak international border in Barmer district, Rajasthan. The Border Security Force detained him on Thursday. The preliminary investigation revealed that the young man entered India because of a family dispute related to marriage.

Security agencies probing motive behind illegal border crossing

BSF has confirmed that the Pakistani national crossed the Indian border from the Pakistan side late Monday night from the BSF’s Ashoka Border Outpost (BOP) in the Saroope Ka Tala border, adjoining Barmer district. The Pakistani intruder had travelled 8 kilometres inside Indian territory before the BSF detained him on Thursday.

After detaining the accused Pakistani national, the BSF handed him over to Dhanau Police Station in Barmer, he is currently being interrogated. The DSP of Chohtan, Jetharam, confirmed to the media that the BSF handed the accused intruder over to them. Jetharam confirmed that the accused Pakistani national is Mohammad Avesh, son of Huzur Khan. He is a resident of Mithi city in Pakistan. No suspicious material has been found with him so far, however many agencies are interrogating him.

Social media post of the young Pakistani man who went missing goes viral

After receiving the information about the illegal infiltration, a search operation was launched and the young man was arrested. Additionally, an intensive search was conducted up to 10 km in the surrounding area, but no suspicious objects were found. Initially the agency thought the man was carrying restricted material, but when they searched, only a pouch of tobacco was found and nothing else. During questioning he revealed that he is a resident of Samoon village in Pakistan. The reason behind his border crossing was a family dispute, he ran away from home after his family refused to arrange his marriage. Currently, the BSF and Rajasthan police are investigating the matter together.

While the investigation is ongoing, a social media post of the young man has gone viral, with his picture circulating on Pakistani social media platforms. The post includes his picture and is captioned, “missing since Monday,” along with an appeal for people to share this information widely and relay his whereabouts to his distressed family.
