A 14-year-old girl was reportedly the victim of sexual assault and blackmail by her teacher in Jalna, Maharashtra. The individual, identified as Vicky Shinde, has been arrested following the allegations made by the girl’s family. According to the police complaint filed on June 12, 2026, Shinde had established contact with the minor through various social media platforms over the preceding year.

During this time, he allegedly groomed the girl by earning her trust and later used psychological pressure to obtain her private photographs. The accused purportedly exploited these images to threaten the girl, stating he would release them online if she did not comply with his demands.

This manipulation led to the sexual assault of the girl, which has had a severe psychological impact on her. Reports indicate that almost a month after the initial assault, Shinde renewed his demands for physical favours from her, further traumatizing the teenager.

Family Responds to Distress

Living in a state of continuous fear, the girl ultimately found the courage to disclose her situation to her mother. Upon learning about the harrowing ordeal, her family promptly visited the local police station to file a formal complaint.

Following the family’s report, the police took immediate action and registered a case against Shinde. The investigation focused on the gravity of the allegations, including the sexual assault and the threats involved. The local police moved quickly to address the situation and ensure the safety of the victim.

Recognising the seriousness of the offences, authorities arrested Shinde under several relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Following his arrest, Shinde is currently undergoing interrogation.

Community Reaction and Police Advisory

The incident has led to widespread anger and concern throughout Jalna, with many residents calling for severe legal actions against the accused educator. Community members have voiced their outrage, emphasising the need for stringent measures to protect children from such predatory behaviours.

In light of this distressing case, the police department issued an advisory urging parents to be vigilant about their children’s activities on social media platforms. They encouraged families to monitor online interactions and educate their children about the potential dangers present on the internet.

This incident serves as a troubling reminder of the issues of online safety and the importance of protecting minors from exploitation. The local authorities are committed to ensuring a thorough investigation and are advocating for increased awareness and safety measures within the community.
