A man has been detained in Lucknow under serious allegations of raping a 13year-old girl who was receiving tutoring from him. The incident, as outlined in the First Information Report (FIR), claims that the tutor sexually assaulted the minor several times over a span of 20 days. The police have reported that the girl became pregnant due to the alleged incidents of abuse, raising significant concerns regarding the tutor’s actions.

Coercion into Abortion and Medical Aftermath

Authorities indicated that the accused not only assaulted the girl but also coerced her into undergoing an abortion following the pregnancy. After the medical procedure, the girl reportedly experienced intense pain, prompting her to confide in her mother about the harrowing experience. This disclosure led to the family’s prompt action in seeking legal recourse, underscoring the need for immediate intervention in such grave situations.

Legal Actions Under Relevant Provisions

The police have responded to the situation by registering a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, reflecting the seriousness of crimes against minors. In addition, the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act has also been activated, as the victim is from the Dalit community.
