India’s victory over Bangladesh in the Super 4 clash has confirmed its spot in the final of Asia Cup 2025. Led by Suryakumar Yadav, the team has been unbeaten throughout the competition, and this win has made them finalists. All rounder Abhishek Sharma’s 75 from 37 balls made India reach 168/6 in 20 overs, Kuldeep Yadav’s three wickets and Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy two each made Bangladesh sum up at 127.
Deciding match
Today’s match between Bangladesh and Pakistan will be the deciding match, as to who would be the second team in the final. In a conversation Bangladesh stand-in skipper Zaker Ali said, “It’s quite surprising, but I take the preparation. All the credit goes to the boys, after ten overs they adjusted brilliantly. We can take lots of things from this game, we have another game tomorrow. We have to keep in mind that we can win tomorrow and play the final. Let’s see what kind of combination we are going to go with but we will give our best.”
Pakistan failed to make a mark
With Salman Ali Agha leading the team, they have failed to make a mark. Only win against Oman was a good show. Pakistan’s match with India and its defeat was criticised for lack of surrender and their match with UAE was embarrassing.
Ahead of the match, Shaheen Shah Afridi brushed aside Suryakumar Yadav’s remark that the IND vs PAK rivalry had faded, insisting Pakistan are focused only on the title. “We are here to win the cup, whichever team comes in the final, we are ready to beat them,” Afridi said.
