An MBA graduate from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya asserted that she incurred expenses totalling Rs 75,000 when relocating to Delhi for a job that ultimately did not exist. On her joining day, she discovered that the office address provided to her allegedly did not exist, despite her receiving official documentation related to her employment. Her situation was highlighted by a user on X, prompting widespread engagement online.

The graduate reported that she received an offer letter and was assigned a joining date, leading her to believe that everything was in order. Trusting in this assurance, she made the significant financial investment to move to the capital city alone. After arriving on May 4, she recounted standing outside the office location for approximately two hours, while attempting to contact company representatives through phone calls and messages.

Despite her efforts, she reported receiving no responses from the company. It was later communicated to her that the office was “out of lease,” a circumstance she claimed was never disclosed to her prior to her relocation. This news only added to her frustration as she had already made significant financial and logistical commitments.

Delayed Assurance and Communication Breakdown

However, weeks passed without resolution, and she later discovered that her joining date had been pushed back, with claims that no joining would be possible before July. This continuous delay and lack of communication exacerbated her situation, as she felt time and finances slipping away without any clarity or support from the company.
