Husband Jailed for Wife’s ‘Murder’, Wife Found Living with Lover in Noida

The CSR Journal Magazine

A 25-year-old woman, who was previously believed to have been murdered, has been found alive in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Her husband, who had been arrested on charges of dowry-related murder, is now facing charges in a bizarre turn of events. The woman, who had disappeared in July, was found living with her paramour, leading to her husband’s wrongful imprisonment.

Woman Found Living with Lover in Noida

The woman, whose identity has been withheld, married Ranjeet Kumar of Areraj Nagar Panchayat in February 2025. In July, she went missing from her husband’s home. Ranjeet filed a missing person’s report, and shortly after, the woman’s parents accused him of dowry harassment and murder. They alleged that Ranjeet had killed their daughter after failing to receive the promised dowry of ₹1.5 lakh.

The police acted swiftly, arresting Ranjeet on charges of murder, based on the family’s claims that he had killed his wife and disposed of her body. However, when no evidence of the murder could be found, investigators began to suspect that the case wasn’t as clear-cut as it seemed.

Police Solved Case with Scientific Investigation

Upon further investigation, police officers grew suspicious due to certain technical inputs. A team of officers traveled to Noida on Monday, where they discovered that the woman was alive and living with her lover.

The woman and her paramour were arrested in a dramatic twist to the case. Police are now bringing the woman and her lover back to Areraj, where further actions will be based on her statement.

Husband seeks Legal recourse

The police team, led by Areraj Station House Officer Pratyasha Kumari and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ravi Kumar, used scientific methods and surveillance to solve the case.

This new development has not only exonerated the husband but has also revealed the shocking truth behind the woman’s disappearance. Ranjeet Kumar, who had been in jail for months, is now seeking legal recourse for his wrongful imprisonment.
