A four-year-old boy tragically lost his life in a road accident in Bhind district, Madhya Pradesh, when a car driver allegedly opened the vehicle’s door without warning. This sudden action caused a motorcycle carrying the boy to lose balance, leading to the child’s fall onto the highway where he was subsequently struck by a dumper truck. The incident took place on Saturday as Devansh Yadav was travelling on a motorcycle with his grandfather, Sunil Yadav.

As they approached a stretch of highway near the Kunwari river, the parked car’s driver opened the door abruptly, obstructing the motorcycle’s path. This resulted in Devansh falling onto the road, where he was tragically run over by a dumper truck. The accident resulted in immediate injuries to his grandfather, who was riding with him.

The scene quickly drew a crowd, with bystanders managing to apprehend the dumper truck driver until police arrived. An investigation was launched, during which authorities found a nameplate indicating that the car belonged to a “former BJP Mahila Morcha district president.” However, the station house officer, Shiv Pratap Singh, confirmed that it is still unverified if the vehicle indeed belongs to a political leader.

Police Response and Investigation

Authorities have seized both vehicles involved in the incident—the car and the dumper truck—and arrested the drivers. The station house officer reported that the motorcycle lost its stability due to the car door opening, leading directly to the fatal accident. A comprehensive investigation is ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding this tragic event and to assign responsibility accordingly.

Local residents have expressed concern over the safety protocols concerning parked vehicles, especially in busy traffic areas. The investigation aims to clarify these issues and enhance road safety to prevent such incidents in the future.

Separate Incident Involving a Toddler

In a separate tragedy, a three-year-old boy died after falling into an open septic tank in Khandwa district, Madhya Pradesh. This incident, which took place on July 24, has prompted the state government to suspend a civic official for alleged negligence. The child, identified as Tanush Usrathe, was visiting the temple town of Omkareshwar with his family.

The family had just disembarked from a bus at the Brahmpuri parking area when the toddler, running ahead in the darkness, fell into an uncovered septic tank situated nearby. Despite his father’s attempts to rescue him from the tank, the boy’s lungs got filled with contaminated water, resulting in his death during subsequent treatment at a local hospital.

An inquiry into the incident has led to the suspension of Suresh Chandra Patidar, a deputy engineer with the Omkareshwar Nagar Parishad. Reports indicate that the uncovered septic tank belonged to a dharamshala, and although encroachments had recently been cleared, the civic body allegedly failed to cover the tank, creating a hazardous situation.

Authorities are looking into the practices surrounding the maintenance of such facilities in order to prevent future occurrences of similar incidents. The case emphasises the importance of addressing potential dangers posed by public infrastructure to ensure community safety.
