The CSR Journal Magazine

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has declared that the Bihar government plans to develop new townships across approximately twelve locations within the state, including the city of Muzaffarpur. On July 12, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 982 development projects in Muzaffarpur, which collectively are valued at Rs 1,047.09 crore.

During this event, he officially announced the new township in Muzaffarpur will be named ‘Tirhut’. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance urban infrastructure in both existing and newly established areas.

Focus on Infrastructure Improvements

In his address, CM Choudhary highlighted ongoing efforts to revitalise old cities by upgrading essential infrastructure such as drainage systems, road networks, water supply, parks, community centres, and housing for those in need. He stated that the revamping process is complex and requires time to address all the facets involved effectively.

Choudhary emphasised the proactive stance of the Bihar government in improving the quality of life for its citizens, assuring the public that they are committed to working diligently on infrastructure projects. He acknowledged the role of both the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in advancing the development of new urban areas by providing fundamental services like electricity and water to every household.

He further conveyed that about twelve locations across the state have been earmarked for this significant development, with Muzaffarpur being one of the key sites for establishing a new township.

Employment and Education Initiatives

In addition to urban development, CM Choudhary announced measures aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for women through the Chief Minister Women’s Employment Scheme. He stressed the importance of ensuring that all eligible beneficiaries, particularly women, are included in these initiatives.

Moreover, the Chief Minister outlined intentions to strengthen educational infrastructure in Bihar. Plans are underway to establish model schools, degree colleges, and coaching centres within the existing government schools. These efforts aim to uplift the standard of education and provide better learning opportunities for students across the state.

Choudhary affirmed that financial assistance has already been distributed among women under the aforementioned scheme, and noted the government’s commitment to supporting those who have not yet received aid. He expressed pride in Bihar’s cultural heritage and reiterated the government’s resolve to preserve and promote it for future generations.

With the combined focus on infrastructure development, enhanced educational facilities, and employment for women, CM Choudhary’s announcements signal a comprehensive strategy aimed at fostering economic growth and improving living standards in Bihar.
