Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce three new iPhone models in early 2027, which include the standard iPhone 18, the iPhone 18e, and the second-generation iPhone Air. This announcement comes as the company continues to refresh its product lineup, following the recent launch of its flagship iPhone 18 Pro series and the foldable iPhone Duo.

While specific details regarding pricing and specifications have yet to be confirmed by Apple, sources suggest that the launch could occur between February and April 2027. This strategy appears to be part of Apple’s plan to first highlight its premium offerings before shifting focus to its more budget-friendly options.

Insiders have indicated that the production of the standard iPhone 18 may commence in late November 2026, with Apple reportedly preparing a substantial inventory for its spring release. This follows earlier claims that suggested a potential reduction in production for the standard model in favour of the higher-end iPhone 18 Pro Max and the foldable variant.

Specifications and Features of iPhone 18

According to leaks, the iPhone 18 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, similar to its predecessor, the iPhone 17. There are also indications that the new model may include a brighter screen and a smaller Dynamic Island, enhancing the overall user experience.

Design-wise, the iPhone 18 may showcase a revised rear layout, featuring two vertically aligned cameras housed within a horizontal camera bar. Rumoured colour options include silver, pink, dark blue, and burgundy, although these details remain unverified.

Under the hood, the device is anticipated to be powered by Apple’s A20 chipset, which is reportedly manufactured using a 2-nanometre process. This chip is expected to integrate various components, including RAM, CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine, onto a single wafer, potentially improving both performance and energy efficiency. The iPhone 18 is also likely to feature Apple’s C2 modem and run on iOS 27.

Memory specifications are currently inconsistent, with some analysts suggesting 9GB of RAM for both the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e, while others indicate 12GB for the standard model. Additionally, there are reports of a six-channel memory configuration using 1.5GB per die, but the final details remain unconfirmed.

In addition to the standard model, Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 18e as a more affordable alternative. This model is likely to retain a familiar design and feature a 6.1-inch display, with hardware specifications closely mirroring those of the standard iPhone 18, albeit with some modifications to reduce costs.

The iPhone Air 2 is also anticipated to maintain a 6.5-inch display and a titanium design, while upgrading to an A20 Pro chip, 12GB of RAM, and improved battery life. This model may also include a second 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera, enhancing its photography capabilities.

Regarding pricing in India, it is expected that the new models will be positioned at higher price points compared to their predecessors. The standard iPhone 18 may start at approximately Rs 99,900, while the iPhone 18e could be available from around Rs 79,900, aligning with the revised prices of the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e. The iPhone Air 2 is projected to be priced around Rs 1,49,000, placing it between the standard and Pro models.
