Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh are officially set to enhance the appeal of the inauguration episode of India’s Got Latent Season 2. Their participation is highly anticipated by fans, eager to see the renowned Bollywood actors on the popular comedy talent show. The announcement was made by creator and comedian Samay Raina, who shared a thumbnail featuring the two stars on social media.

The premiere is scheduled for today, June 20, at 7 pm, and will be made available on both Netflix and YouTube. This dual release aims to cater to a broader audience, marking a significant expansion for the series. The panel for the episode will include Samay Raina, Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh, along with fellow panellists Balraj Singh Ghai and Aashish Solanki.

Distribution Strategy Introduced for Season 2

Amid rising excitement about the new season, a significant announcement regarding the distribution of the show has emerged. Samay Raina recently revealed that India’s Got Latent Season 2 will debut simultaneously on Netflix India and YouTube, a first for the series. This strategic decision follows weeks of speculation, aiming to reach a wider audience across both platforms.

By adopting this innovative approach, the show intends to attract more viewers and engage a diverse demographic. Such a move reflects the evolving landscape of digital content consumption in India, as major platforms compete for audience attention.

The inclusion of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in this season coincides with their promotional activities for their upcoming action thriller, Alpha, which is set to release in cinemas on July 3. Their presence on the show is expected to further fuel excitement among fans, providing additional visibility for both the film and the talent show.

Controversy Surrounding Previous Season

The announcement of the new season comes amid controversy from India’s Got Latent’s previous season. Following a remark made by actor Ranveer Singh during an episode, the show faced considerable backlash. In a now-viral clip, he posed a questionable hypothetical situation to a contestant that many viewers found highly inappropriate, drawing considerable attention on social media platforms.

The negative response resulted in multiple FIRs being filed against Ranveer Singh and the show’s producers, prompting intervention by the National Commission for Women. As a result, Ranveer issued a written apology and was granted interim protection from arrest by the Supreme Court, which commented on the vulgarity of his remarks.

In a recent episode of Still Alive, Samay Raina discussed the distasteful incident, mentioning that Ranveer’s contentious question was repeated multiple times during the recording. While reviewing the final cut, Raina noted several unsuitable comments, leading him to retain one instance of the question and remove others before airing.

India’s Got Latent Season 2 is available for streaming on both Netflix and YouTube, beginning June 20 at 7 pm. The show’s return promises to deliver a blend of comedy and entertainment amidst the ongoing discussions surrounding its past controversies.
