The CSR Journal Magazine

Actor Rajesh Sharma, known for his work in both Hindi and Bengali cinema, has been discharged from a Kolkata hospital after facing health complications due to an insect bite. This incident occurred while he was shooting for the film Fauji, which features prominent actor Prabhas. Officials from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) confirmed that Sharma has now recovered and is expected to return to work shortly.

The president of FWICE, BN Tiwari, provided updates on Sharma’s health, stating that the actor had already travelled back to Mumbai post-treatment. Tiwari noted that although Sharma’s blood sugar levels had surged, he is currently in good health and has plans to resume his professional commitments within days.

Sources reached out to Sharma for a statement regarding his condition; however, no response was received by the time this report was filed. His recent health issues had raised concerns among fans and colleagues alike, leading to widespread interest in his recovery.

Details of the Incident at Ramoji Film City

On July 8, the incident that caused the actor’s health scare occurred at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Actor Sudipa Chatterjee shared details on social media about the unfortunate event, revealing that the bite happened after the shooting for the day had concluded. While Sharma was interacting with local technicians in an area with dense vegetation, he sustained the insect bite.

Initially, the situation didn’t seem critical, and Sharma did not seek immediate medical assistance. However, several hours later, he began to suffer severe pain in his right leg and exhibited symptoms of malaise. Despite his discomfort, he made the decision to board a flight to Kolkata, where his condition deteriorated further during the journey.

Upon arrival in Kolkata, he was admitted to Manipal Hospital in Dhakuria the following day, where medical professionals began addressing his rapidly escalating health issues. Sudipa Chatterjee outlined that Sharma was experiencing a serious infection in his right leg, which progressed rapidly and was accompanied by high fever and breathlessness.

Monitoring and Recovery Progress

Doctors at the hospital discovered that the infection had spread from Sharma’s toes to his knee, causing large blisters to form on the affected leg. This alarming situation required constant monitoring to assess his condition and adjust treatment as necessary.

Rajesh Sharma is recognised for his diverse body of work in the film industry, featuring performances in notable films such as Khosla Ka Ghosla, Ishqiya, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, among others. His contribution to cinema has garnered him significant appreciation and a loyal fan base, both in Hindi and Bengali films.

As the actor prepares to return to work, his fans and peers are expressing relief over his recovery and are looking forward to seeing him on screen once again. The incident serves as a reminder of the potential health hazards faced by actors and crew during shooting in various locations.
