A seven-year-old girl was tragically murdered in Supaul district, Bihar, on Friday. The victim, identified as Preeti Kumari, was reportedly attacked with a spade by a neighbour, Raju Shah, while she was walking home with her father, Shambhu Shah. The incident occurred in Parsarma Ward No. 8, within the jurisdiction of the Sadar police station.

According to preliminary reports, Shambhu Shah was returning home after collecting milk from the village. Preeti followed closely behind, carrying a milk bottle. As they approached their residence, Raju Shah allegedly approached them and launched a sudden assault on the young girl.

Family members claim the accused struck Preeti multiple times with the spade, resulting in fatal injuries. She died immediately at the scene before any assistance could arrive. The violent nature of this incident sent shockwaves through the community.

The news of the girl’s death spread rapidly through the village, creating an atmosphere of anger and disbelief among the residents. A large group reportedly converged at the accused’s house, resulting in its destruction by fire as a form of protest against the heinous crime.

In response to the escalating situation, law enforcement agencies dispatched multiple police teams to the area. Under the direction of Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rajiv Ranjan, a significant police presence was established to manage the unrest and restore order.
