The recent launch of the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Max has expanded the Redmi Note 17 series in India. While these two models share similar design elements, they exhibit distinct features. Both smartphones showcase a square camera module layout but differ in their camera housing. The Note 17 Pro features a raised pill-shaped design for its cameras, while the Pro Max has two separate cutouts for its camera arrangement.

Both models sport a flat plastic frame with rounded edges, akin to their entry-level counterpart, the Note 17. They are equipped with plastic backplates and have dimensions of approximately 8.6mm in thickness. Furthermore, the colour options for these devices vary: the Note 17 Pro is offered in Cloud Blue, Purple, and Black, whereas the Note 17 Pro Max comes in Secret Sunrise, Matcha Green, and Stealth Black.

Additionally, both devices boast impressive IP ratings for dust and water resistance, with the Note 17 Pro rating at IP66 and the Pro Max at IP68. These certifications enhance the durability of the smartphones, appealing to users concerned about environmental hazards.

Display Features of Redmi Note 17 Pro and Pro Max

The front displays of the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Pro Max are identical, featuring a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Xiaomi has claimed that this display is a 12-bit panel capable of displaying approximately 68.7 billion colours. Both smartphones are capable of achieving peak brightness levels of 3,500 nits, with a high brightness mode of 2,000 nits available for enhanced visibility in bright conditions.

Moreover, the screens are safeguarded with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, providing additional protection against everyday wear and tear. Users can also enjoy stereo speakers equipped with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision features, enhancing the overall multimedia experience on both devices.

With these advanced display capabilities, both models are designed to attract users who prioritise high-quality visual performance along with immersive audio experiences. These features aim to compete effectively within the mid-range smartphone market in India.

Battery, Performance, and Camera Specifications

A notable aspect of the Redmi Note 17 Pro series is its enhanced battery performance. The Pro Max supports 100W fast charging along with 27W wired reverse charging, earning it a TV SD 5-Star certified battery life for retaining 80 per cent capacity over 1,600 cycles. On the other hand, the Note 17 Pro charges at 67W with a 22.5W wired reverse option, extending its usability beyond a single day’s charge.

Regarding performance, the Note 17 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, supported by up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and either UFS 3.1 or UFS 2.2 storage options. The Note 17 Pro Max stands out with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, offering up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage, a feature designed to enhance speed and efficiency in multitasking and app usage.
