Special Court Orders 12th Accused in Tiger Shroff Firing Case

The CSR Journal Magazine

A special court handling cases under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act has ordered the 12th accused in the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff to be held in police custody until November 6. This decision was made on Saturday, as reported by the Press Trust of India. The accused, identified as Amar Mundiya, was apprehended in Sonipat, Haryana, and is now facing serious charges related to the incident.

During the court proceedings, the police informed the judge that Mundiya had allegedly transferred funds from his bank account to other individuals implicated in the case. The prosecution argued that Mundiya’s custody was essential to trace the origins of these financial transactions and to investigate the digital applications that were reportedly used to facilitate them.

Defending Mundiya, Advocate Ajinkya Mirgal opposed the request for police custody, stating that numerous other suspects had already been arrested. Mirgal contended that the police were relying on repetitive grounds to justify their request for further custody. He maintained that the technical and banking information could be obtained without the need for physical interrogation.

Background of the Incident

The incident in question occurred on October 18, when two shooters fired five rounds at Tiger Shroff’s car as he was departing from a football ground in the Juhu area of Mumbai. The 36-year-old actor, known for his role in the film Baaghi, managed to escape with minor injuries, while his driver and a bystander, who is a vlogger, sustained injuries during the incident.

Following the shooting, members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack. The police have identified Anil Pandit, an associate of the incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, as a wanted suspect in connection with the case. This has raised concerns about the gang’s involvement in targeting public figures.

As of now, law enforcement has arrested 12 individuals from various locations, including Rajasthan, Delhi, and Haryana. The police invoked the stringent provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act against the accused on October 27, highlighting the seriousness of the charges they face.

Ongoing Investigation and Next Steps

The investigation is currently focused on multiple aspects, including the shooting incident itself, the alleged financial transactions associated with the accused, and the broader role of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in orchestrating such attacks. Authorities are working diligently to piece together the evidence and establish a clear timeline of events leading up to the shooting.

As the investigation progresses, police are expected to delve deeper into the financial links between the accused and any potential motives behind the attack on Shroff. The involvement of organised crime in targeting celebrities has raised alarms within the film industry, prompting calls for enhanced security measures for public figures.

The court’s decision to remand Amar Mundiya in custody until November 6 is seen as a critical step in gathering more information and ensuring that all those involved in this incident are brought to justice. The case continues to attract significant media attention, reflecting the public’s interest in both the safety of celebrities and the activities of organised crime in India.
