West Delhi To Experience Temporary Water Supply Disruption on April 24

The CSR Journal Magazine

West Delhi residents will encounter a temporary disruption in water supply on April 24, 2026 (Friday), due to scheduled maintenance and commissioning work on major water pipelines. The water supply interruption will take place from 03:00 pm to 08:00 pm, as indicated by an official advisory. This action is being undertaken because of the disconnection of an existing 1200 mm Dwarka water main and the commissioning of newly installed 1000 mm and 700 mm diameter pipelines located near DDA Park in Kali Basti, in proximity to the Uttam Nagar Terminal.

Areas Impacted by the Water Cut

Multiple residential colonies across Dwarka, Uttam Nagar, Janakpuri, and surrounding areas are set to be affected by this temporary disruption. Significant areas that will face water supply interruptions include Udyog Nagar DSIIDC, Jwalapuri R Block, GH-12, parts of Paschim Vihar, Rishal Garden, and Chander Vihar. Other notable residential zones that will experience the cut are Ranholaa Baprola, Jai Vihar GOC, and Chanchal Park.

Further impacted locations include LIG Flats Hastal, Press Enclave, Hastal Vihar, Vikas Nagar GOC, and Om Vihar Phases 1 to 5. Additionally, residents in Mohan Garden, D.K. Road, Shakti Vihar, Anand Vihar, Gurpreet Nagar, and Dal Mill Road will also be affected. Other colonies such as Yadav Enclave, Roop Vihar, and Mehta Enclave are included, along with Gupta Enclave, Fish Market, and various booster command areas.

The disruptions extend to areas like Sishram Park, E Block East Uttam Nagar, Indra Park Extension, and Ram Dutt Enclave. Also affected are Jain Park, Matiala Extension, Sukhi Ram Park, Nanhey Park, and other adjoining localities.

Recommendations for Residents

Authorities have urged residents to take certain precautions prior to the scheduled water supply interruption. It is recommended that residents store adequate water before 03:00 pm on April 24. Moreover, they are advised to use water judiciously during the maintenance period and to avoid unnecessary consumption until normal supply is restored.

In addition to these recommendations, officials have implemented emergency support mechanisms for residents who may require urgent water supplies. Various water tanker services will be accessible and can be contacted via dedicated helpline numbers, including the Central Control Room at 011-23938495 or 1916. The NWS Toll Free Number is also available at 18001217744, along with specific hotline numbers for Nangloi, Najafgarh, Madhu Vihar, and Budhela Filling Point.

Officials have assured the public that this maintenance work is part of a broader initiative aimed at upgrading the water supply infrastructure, which will ultimately enhance long-term efficiency in the region. Following the completion of the work, normal water supply is expected to resume by 08:00 pm, unless unforeseen circumstances cause delays.
