VHP Chief Alok Kumar Calls For Comprehensive Investigation Into Ram Mandir Donation Allegations

The CSR Journal Magazine

The International President of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Alok Kumar, has called for a thorough investigation into alleged irregularities concerning donations made for the Ram Janmabhoomi temple. He asserted that anyone found guilty must face the strictest penalties stipulated by law. Kumar emphasised the importance of waiting for the investigation’s results before passing judgement or tarnishing reputations.

In a conversation with ANI, Kumar mentioned that many families had generously contributed to the temple, viewing their donations as sacred. He expressed satisfaction that following the emergence of these allegations, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust promptly reached out to the Chief Minister, advocating for the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT has since arrived in Ayodhya to commence their inquiries.

Kumar further remarked that Champat Rai, the General Secretary of the Trust, was the first to appear before the SIT and acknowledged his responsibility in the matter. He reiterated the need for an impartial and comprehensive investigation, free from bias towards any individual involved.

Details About The SIT Formation

The Uttar Pradesh government constituted the SIT on June 14, in response to the Trust’s request to investigate the financial allegations surrounding the Ram Temple. The SIT consists of three members: Vijay Vishwas Pant, Divisional Commissioner of Lucknow, Kiran S, Inspector General (Range), and Neel Ratan, Special Secretary of Finance. This committee has been instructed to prepare both preliminary and final reports as expeditiously as possible.

On June 21, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured that the formation of the SIT was timely and essential. He noted that the inquiry aims to distinguish between truth and falsehood. Additionally, he invited anyone possessing relevant documentary evidence to submit it to the SIT for their consideration.

Adityanath urged caution among Ram devotees, advising them to refrain from making unsubstantiated remarks that could undermine the integrity of the ongoing investigation. He underscored that false allegations could hurt the sentiments of those devoted to Lord Ram, urging that dignity and respect should guide everyone’s conduct during the inquiry.

Chief Minister’s Remarks on Public Sentiment

The Chief Minister articulated a passionate appeal to Ram devotees, highlighting the historical significance of patience, especially considering the lengthy struggle for recognition of Ayodhya. He pointed out that any attempts to malign the sacred image of Ayodhya must be rebuffed, especially by those who have attempted to undermine its sanctity in the past.

In his public statements, Adityanath expressed concerns regarding misinformation campaigns aimed at discrediting the Ram Janmabhoomi temple. He referred to the adversaries of the temple and their attempts to spread false narratives, recalling a history of aggression against Ram devotees, and suggesting that such history ought to be acknowledged by the public.

He concluded his remarks by calling upon individuals to act with civility, refraining from defaming Ayodhya or its devotees. Stressing the values taught by Lord Ram, Adityanath encouraged collective restraint and dignity, asserting that the long wait for justice deserves continued patience.
