Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is set to launch a large-scale campaign to empower farmers and promote toxin-free food, milk, fruits, and vegetables across the state.

Centered on cow-based farming, the initiative aims to boost the income of over one crore farmers, while driving economic growth, improving public health, and advancing environmental sustainability.

Village-to-Village Organic Farming Drive

Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Gau Seva Commission, Shyam Bihari Gupta, informed that, for the first time, a state-wide village-to-village campaign is being initiated under the direct guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The campaign will empower more than one crore farming families by providing training, resources, and technical support to adopt cow-based organic farming practices.

The Yogi government’s Gram-Urja Model is being developed as the cornerstone of a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh. Under this model, cow shelters (gaushalas) in every village will be utilised to produce biogas, vermicompost, Jeevamrit, and Ghanjeevamrit, promoting organic farming. This will significantly reduce the dependency on chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Powering Self-Reliant Villages

By adopting organic alternatives such as Jeevamrit, Ghanjeevamrit, and vermicompost, farmers can save Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 per acre on input costs. This not only lowers the overall cost of cultivation, but also improves crop quality and preserves soil fertility in the long term.

Healthier Farms, Healthier Families

The initiative extends beyond agriculture; it’s a step toward a healthier society. The rising incidence of serious diseases such as cancer, thyroid disorders, infertility, hormonal imbalances, and diabetes has been linked to the consumption of chemically treated food.

Organic, toxin-free produce generated through cow-based farming offers a sustainable and protective alternative for public health.
