Two North-East Women Allege Molestation Outside Delhi Club; Police Begin Probe

The CSR Journal Magazine

A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged by the Delhi Police following allegations of molestation and assault made by two women from the North-East. The incident occurred early in the morning on May 10, 2026, outside a club located in the Nehru Place area of the national capital. The FIR was filed at the KalkaJi police station after the women reported that they encountered harassment while having tea outside the venue.

Details of the Allegations

The complaint details how, while the women were enjoying their tea, they were subjected to catcalling from two boys. As the situation escalated, a larger group of men reportedly joined in, inciting a confrontation and allegedly assaulting the women. According to the FIR, one of the complainants was molested, and her clothing was torn during the incident. Furthermore, the women claimed that the accused used racial slurs and verbally assaulted them throughout the encounter.

In addition to the verbal abuse, the FIR states that one of the women was allegedly attacked with a bamboo stick while they attempted to flee. They also reported that the assailants blocked their path and issued threats regarding the consequences of revealing details about the occurrence. The police confirmed that a call was made to the Police Control Room about the incident, prompting the registration of a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertain to offences such as assault, molestation, wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation, and acts that may endanger life.

The complainants expressed confidence that they would be able to identify the accused if they were presented before them, and the police have initiated further investigations into the matter.

Separate Incident Involving a Child

In a separate report, on May 8, a three-year-old girl was allegedly subjected to sexual assault during school hours by an unidentified male staff member. This incident came to light when the girl’s mother lodged a formal complaint at the Janakpuri Police Station on May 1, citing allegations of sexual assault against the male staff at her daughter’s school.

Authorities registered a case based on the complaint under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Following identification by the young victim, the accused has been arrested and is currently in judicial custody. However, the accused was granted bail on May 7 by the Additional Sessions Judge Court in Dwarka, a decision that faced strong opposition from the prosecution.

As the case progresses, authorities are set to examine the court order closely and determine the next steps. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and further updates are anticipated.
