U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his willingness to assist in resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, emphasising the urgency of a cessation of hostilities. This statement was reported by Russian news agencies, citing Yuri Ushakov, a foreign policy adviser to President Vladimir Putin.

During a recent phone conversation, Trump reiterated to Putin the importance of ending the war. Ushakov conveyed that Trump is prepared to collaborate with European partners as well as with Kyiv in efforts to establish peace in the region.

The discussions come ahead of the upcoming G7 summit in France, where Trump indicated that he is ready to engage in negotiations regarding this critical issue. Ushakov confirmed that the dialogue focused on various aspects of the Ukrainian conflict, which has seen significant international attention and concern.
