The CSR Journal Magazine

Smartphone brand Nothing has implemented a price increase on several of its models. The Phone (3a) Lite is now priced at Rs 27,999, a rise from its previous price of Rs 24,999. Additionally, the 256GB variant has increased to Rs 29,999.

The Phone (4a) has also seen a price adjustment, with the base model of 8GB RAM and 128GB storage now listed at Rs 34,999, up from a lower price. The higher-end 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version is now available for Rs 40,999.

The Phone (4a) Pro has experienced the most significant price hike, with its starting price set at Rs 44,999 and going as high as Rs 50,999 depending on the variant selected. Reports indicate these new prices are reflected on the official website.

OnePlus Raises Prices Across Models

OnePlus has also announced increased prices for its OnePlus 15 series smartphones. The newly listed price for the OnePlus 15 is now Rs 77,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, an increase from the earlier price of Rs 72,999. The 16GB RAM and 512GB model has jumped to Rs 85,999 from Rs 79,999.

The OnePlus 15R has seen a rise of Rs 2,500 in its pricing, which now starts at Rs 52,999. These changes have been confirmed by checking the official OnePlus India website, where updated prices are already visible.

Reports suggest that the price hikes may have come as a surprise to some consumers, as they have only recently launched these models. Official verification from the company regarding the reasons for the price changes is still pending.

Realme and Xiaomi Follow Suit With Price Increases

Realme has reportedly raised prices for six of its smartphone models, with each storage variant experiencing a hike of Rs 1,000. Models affected by this increase include the Realme C71 4G, Realme 15x 5G, Realme 15T 5G, Realme C85 5G, and the Realme 16 Pro variants.

The new starting prices for these models range from Rs 11,999 to Rs 44,999, depending on the features and specifications of each device. These adjustments have been reported by known tipster Abhishek Yadav, who shared the information through social media.

Xiaomi has also revised the pricing for the Redmi Note 15 Pro series, with the updated prices visible on Mi.com. The Redmi Note 15 Pro now starts at Rs 31,999, while the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ begins at Rs 39,999. Some high-end variants have reportedly increased by as much as Rs 2,000.

As consumers consider upgrading their devices, this may be an opportune moment to explore available offers, as the stability of smartphone pricing appears to be fluctuating.

Possible Reasons Behind the Price Hikes

One of the contributing factors to these price increases may be soaring costs of components necessary for smartphone manufacturing. An email screenshot, purportedly from Realme to its partners, has indicated that rising prices for memory and chipsets are forcing companies to adjust retail prices.

Interestingly, Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, had previously anticipated this situation. Earlier in January 2026, he indicated on social media that smartphone manufacturers might need to choose between raising prices or downgrading specifications due to the challenges of sustaining competitive pricing in the market.

Pei further noted that the cost of memory chips could see dramatic increases, stating that components that previously cost under $20 might exceed $100 for high-end models by the end of the year. As manufacturers navigate these economic pressures, price adjustments seem likely to continue in the near future.
