Skoda Slavia Facelift to Launch in India on October 6, 2026

The CSR Journal Magazine

Skoda Auto is poised to introduce the facelifted Slavia in India on October 6, 2026. This refreshed sedan incorporates stylistic modifications, new features, and an enhanced automatic transmission, while maintaining its existing turbocharged petrol engines. The commencement of production for this revised model has already taken place at Skoda Auto Volkswagen’s facility in Chakan, Pune, with deliveries anticipated to begin around the festive season.

Exterior and Interior Enhancements

The updated Slavia preserves the overall silhouette of its predecessor; however, it showcases a reimagined front fascia. Key changes include an updated grille featuring vertical chrome slats, more aggressive LED headlamps, and a redesigned bumper with a broader lower air intake. While the side profile remains predominantly intact, the facelift introduces new multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, the vehicle boasts reprofiled tail-lamps, a black strip across the boot lid displaying the Skoda name, and a refreshed bumper marked by both black and chrome accents.

Inside the cabin, Skoda has opted for a dual-tone design with lighter upholstery and modified trim elements on the dashboard and door lower sections. The sedan retains its 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with higher variants offering a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. These enhancements aim to elevate the driving experience in the updated model.

Feature Upgrades and Technology Improvements

Among the most significant updates to the Slavia are the new features that enhance comfort and convenience. The refreshed sedan now includes electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, wireless charging capabilities, and a six-speaker audio system complete with a subwoofer. Notably, the facelifted Slavia introduces a segment-first rear-seat massage function and a 360-degree Area View camera, aiming to provide a comprehensive technology package in the premium compact sedan category.

The infotainment system benefits from an upgrade, now featuring an AI Companion powered by Google Cloud, which is expected to further enhance the user experience. These additions are part of Skoda’s strategy to maintain its competitive edge within the segment.

Engine Specifications and Production Details

The Slavia facelift continues to feature the existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engines. The smaller engine generates 115 bhp and 178 Nm, available with either a six-speed manual or a newly introduced eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission, which replaces the previous six-speed unit. The larger 1.5-litre engine maintains its power output of 147 bhp and 250 Nm, paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Additionally, the 1.5-litre variant is now equipped with rear disc brakes, enhancing its performance and safety credentials.

Notably, the Slavia continues to hold a five-star Global NCAP safety rating, reinforcing its reputation for safety. Production of the updated model is well underway at Skoda’s Chakan facility, which contributes to the company’s overall manufacturing capabilities in India, boasting a joint annual production capacity of 315,000 vehicles.

The Slavia has achieved considerable success in the Indian market, with nearly 80,000 units sold since its initial launch, representing approximately 30 per cent of its segment share. The timing of the facelift ahead of the festive season aligns with increased consumer demand for passenger vehicles during this period.
