The facelifted version of the Skoda Slavia is set to be launched in India on October 6, 2026. This refreshed model comes with a range of styling, feature enhancements, and updates to the powertrain. Production of the new variant has begun at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s facility in Chakan, Pune, and deliveries are anticipated to commence around the festive period.

The updated Skoda Slavia will continue to feature the existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engines. A notable change is that the smaller 1.0-litre engine will now be available with a new automatic gearbox, enhancing the driving experience for consumers.

Moreover, the facelift aims to bolster the competitive edge of the Slavia in its segment by introducing several new features aimed at improving the convenience and comfort of passengers.

Notable Changes in Design and Features

The external appearance of the Skoda Slavia facelift remains true to its sedan silhouette but features significant updates to the front end. The revised grille showcases vertical chrome slats, while sharper LED headlamps and a redesigned bumper with a wider lower opening enhance its visual appeal.

While the side profile of the vehicle remains largely unchanged, the addition of new multi-spoke alloy wheels updates its overall look. At the rear, the facelift includes redesigned tail-lamps and a black strip across the boot lid prominently displaying the Skoda branding, along with an updated bumper that incorporates black and chrome detailing.

Inside, the Slavia facelift features a dual-tone cabin design, which integrates lighter upholstery and trim elements on the dashboard and doors. The infotainment system stands out with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, while higher-end variants will have a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

Additional features, such as electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and a six-speaker audio system with a subwoofer, highlight the focus on comfort and modern technology. Notably, the sedan introduces a segment-first rear-seat massage function and a 360-degree Area View camera, further enhancing the overall experience for occupants.

Powertrain and Safety Features

The updated Skoda Slavia will retain its engine options, featuring the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol units. The 1.0 TSI engine delivers 115 bhp and 178 Nm of torque, available with either a 6-speed manual or a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, replacing the previous 6-speed unit.

The larger 1.5-litre TSI engine continues to produce 147 bhp and 250 Nm, coupled with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. This version of the Slavia will also feature rear disc brakes, contributing to its performance and safety metrics.

The Skoda Slavia maintains a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP, ensuring robust safety features that meet stringent standards. This emphasis on safety and performance aims to reassure customers as they consider the upgraded model.

Local Manufacturing and Market Impact

The production of the Skoda Slavia facelift occurs at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s Chakan plant, which is one of two manufacturing facilities operated by the company in India. Together, these plants possess an annual production capacity of 315,000 vehicles.

Since its initial launch, the Slavia has achieved significant sales figures, with nearly 80,000 units sold, currently representing around 30 per cent of its segment. This timing for the facelift’s production aligns with the festive season, a period historically associated with increased consumer demand for passenger vehicles.

SAVWIPL has reached important milestones, including surpassing two million vehicles produced locally in 2025 and exporting over 725,000 vehicles to more than 40 countries. This initiative is part of their broad ‘Made in India for India and the World’ strategy, demonstrating their commitment to both local and international markets.
