Paid Premieres of Dhurandhar 2 in Tamil and Telugu Cancelled

The CSR Journal Magazine

The paid premiere shows for Ranveer Singh’s film, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, scheduled in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana have been abruptly called off just hours before their intended screening. This unexpected decision stems from the lack of availability of the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film, which will now be replaced by the original Hindi version instead.

Announcement from Broadway Cinemas

Broadway Cinemas in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, made this announcement via a post on X on Monday. The paid previews were initially set to take place at 5.30 PM this Wednesday across various locations. However, the cinema chain explained that the Tamil screenings had to be cancelled due to the non-availability of the content. They also mentioned that Hindi previews would be shown in their place and that they are processing refunds for those who had purchased tickets while apologising for the inconvenience caused.

Content Delivery Delays Identified

Reports suggest that the cancellation is linked to delays in delivering the necessary content to theaters. The Hindi version of Dhurandhar 2 was only received by cinemas nationwide shortly before the scheduled premiere, with the accompanying subtitle package still pending delivery. The primary issue appears to stem from the fact that while the Hindi version was dispatched by the creators, the dubbing for the Tamil and Telugu versions has yet to be finalised. This setback in post-production has made it impractical to hold the premieres in the regional languages, leading to the cancellation.

Anticipated Release Date

Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar, is one of the most eagerly awaited films of 2026 and is set for a global release on March 19. The film aims to leverage the views of the Eid weekend for its launch. Despite these logistical challenges, enthusiasm for the film remains robust, featuring a star-studded cast that includes Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal.
