Kartik Aaryan To Star In Vivek Agnihotri’s Operation Sindoor

The CSR Journal Magazine

Kartik Aaryan is set to take on the lead role in the forthcoming film Operation Sindoor, directed by Vivek Agnihotri. This project draws inspiration from real-life events and is based on the book by Lieutenant General KJS ‘Tiny’ Dhillon, titled Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan. The film aims to portray significant military actions and their implications, reflecting a narrative rooted in factual occurrences.

According to reports from Variety India, Aaryan will commence work on this film following the completion of his current project, Captain India, which is helmed by Shimit Amin. Captain India is currently in production and is set against the backdrop of the Houthi conflict in Yemen, showcasing Aaryan’s versatility in tackling diverse roles.

This collaboration marks the first time that Aaryan and Agnihotri have worked together. Agnihotri is known for his previous works, including The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files, which have garnered attention for their thematic depth and storytelling style. Operation Sindoor will be produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series alongside Agnihotri’s own production company, I Am Buddha Productions.

Details About the Film’s Concept

The announcement of Operation Sindoor was made by Agnihotri on social media in March, where he described the film as being deeply rooted in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. He emphasised that the film is developed through extensive research conducted in collaboration with various branches of the Indian Armed Forces, aiming to present a narrative that is both factual and impactful.

Agnihotri stated that the film intends to confront the realities of the situation with clarity and the artistry of cinema. He expressed that the story is not merely to create noise but to address the facts surrounding the events that transpired. The film’s title references India’s military operation that followed the terror attack in Pahalgam, which occurred in April 2025, further highlighting its connection to significant national events.

As of now, additional details regarding the film’s release date and the complete cast have yet to be disclosed. The anticipation surrounding the project continues to grow as it promises to delve into a critical chapter of India’s military history.
