“Operation Sindoor brought Pakistan to knees in 4 days”: Lt General Rajesh Pushkar

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a press briefing held in Bikaner, Rajasthan, Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, General Officer Commanding of the Kharga Corps, declared that Operation Sindoor has successfully conveyed a strong message to Pakistan within a span of just four days.

The Lieutenant General noted that the operation is currently still in progress and emphasized its purpose as primarily a training exercise. He detailed that during this brief period, Indian forces managed to significantly weaken Pakistan’s resolve, as evidenced by their calls for a ceasefire shortly after. “We provided Pakistan a glimpse of our capabilities. They contacted our Director General of Military Operations and requested a halt to hostilities,” he remarked.

Background of Operation Sindoor

Initiated in response to the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, Operation Sindoor has been aimed at targeting terrorists in both Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The Indian military executed targeted strikes on nine significant terrorist launchpads used by groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen. The operation was characterized by precision and strategic focus on disrupting terrorist infrastructure.

Emphasis on Stronger Responses

Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command, recently stated that India will adopt a more assertive stance against Pakistan’s threats, including their so-called “nuclear bluff.” During an investiture ceremony in Pathankot, he outlined a shift in the Indian Army’s approach from mere retaliatory strategies to aspirations for “decisive victory on the ground.” Katiyar underscored the operational successes achieved in Operation Sindoor, which led to the destruction of various terrorist bases in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Response and Future Threats

According to Katiyar, following the attacks on Pakistan’s military installations, their leadership sought to negotiate a ceasefire, indicating their inability to sustain open conflict. He assured that India’s forthcoming response will be significantly more forceful than previous measures. “The next response will not be limited to just destroying terrorist positions—it will be more extensive and impactful,” he elaborated. Katiyar further remarked that threats of nuclear escalation from the Pakistani leadership should be viewed as a bluff, stemming from their own vulnerabilities.

Military Preparedness and Training

In his address, General Katiyar also paid tribute to the units that excelled during Operation Sindoor, categorizing the operation as a lesson for Pakistan regarding its ongoing antagonisms. He highlighted the importance of technological advancements, particularly in drone capabilities, and reinforced the necessity of consistent training for soldiers. The General emphasized the paramount role of the Indian soldier in ensuring operational success, invoking the historical legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which symbolizes resilience and strength. He concluded by stressing that the Indian military is fully prepared and positioned to address any challenges that may arise in future confrontations.
