Nothing Hints at New B Series Smartphone With Fresh India Teaser

The CSR Journal Magazine

Nothing appears to be preparing to expand its smartphone portfolio with a new “B series”, with recent teasers from the company hinting at the arrival of a new device aimed at Indian consumers. The London-based brand, known for its flagship phones and the mid-range A series, has so far not confirmed the existence of the new lineup.

A series of posts shared by Nothing and Nothing India over the past few days have fuelled speculation about a possible Phone 4b, which could target a different audience and price segment from the company’s existing devices.

Latest Teaser Reveals Design Clues

Earlier this week, the official Nothing account shared a cryptic “(b)” teaser, prompting speculation about a new smartphone series. The company’s India arm later followed up with a short video carrying the caption “(b)usted.”

Unlike the earlier post, the latest teaser offered a partial look at the device. It showcased several signature design elements associated with Nothing products, including the transparent rear panel and visible internal components.

The teaser also appeared to reveal a single rear camera setup, which could indicate that the device is positioned below the company’s current A series smartphones.

While Nothing has not announced a launch timeline, the frequency of the teasers suggests an official unveiling could be approaching.

CMF Cancellation Sparks Fresh Speculation

The latest developments come shortly after Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis revealed that the company had abandoned plans for a successor to the CMF Phone 2 Pro.

Explaining the decision, Evangelidis wrote, “We were working on a successor but with memory prices where they are right now, we can’t build a phone that feels like a genuine step forward at a price that makes sense for CMF.”

He added, “As a result, we’ve decided not to launch a new CMF phone this year.”

Although the company has not indicated whether the cancelled project has evolved into a new Nothing-branded device, speculation surrounding a possible Phone 4b has intensified following the announcement.

Nothing has also recently shared images of the Pokémon characters Jumpluff and Blastoise. The company has traditionally used Pokémon names as internal codenames for its products, pointing to additional devices currently under development.

According to rumours, Blastoise could be the codename for the next Nothing smartphone, while Jumpluff may refer to the Nothing Ear 3a, which is expected to succeed the Ear a earbuds.

Leaks Point to Rebranded CMF Device

Earlier leaks linked the now-shelved CMF Phone 3 Pro to upgraded materials, a metal frame and a redesigned camera module.

A report by AndroidHeadlines had suggested that the device would be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor and feature a 5,500mAh battery.

Tipster Yogesh Brar has since claimed that the device could instead be launched under the Nothing branding.

According to the tipster, the smartphone may make its debut in India next month.

Nothing has yet to officially confirm the existence of a new B series device or reveal details regarding its specifications and launch plans.
