‘No Surrender’: Iran Speaker Says US Talks Peace But Plans Attacks

The CSR Journal Magazine

Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, has issued a firm warning to the United States, emphasizing that Iran will not capitulate in the ongoing conflict. Qalibaf declared that the war “will not end without victory” and dismissed any notion of surrender. Following over a month of hostilities, he asserted that Iran and its allies in the region have already delivered significant setbacks to US forces and their partners. He noted that resistance movements in Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen are gaining strength.

Qalibaf accused Washington of delivering contradictory messages, suggesting that while the US discusses negotiations publicly, it is simultaneously preparing for military escalation. “The enemy talks about negotiations but plans attacks,” he cautioned, emphasizing the need for vigilance among Iranians.

US Ground Operations Under Consideration

These remarks come as the Pentagon is reportedly preparing for potential ground operations in Iran, with thousands of US Marines and soldiers already stationed throughout the Middle East. US officials are currently deliberating short, impactful missions involving both Special Operations forces and conventional troops, targeting critical military installations such as missile systems, air defenses, and coastal facilities.

While military leaders assert that this will not be a full-scale invasion, the plans include rapid raids of a few weeks in duration, although more aggressive strategies described as a “final blow” are also being evaluated. Options include seizing or blockading Iran’s vital oil hub at Kharg Island and focusing on strategic points near the Strait of Hormuz, possibly even ground operations linked to nuclear sites.

Iran Prepared for Military Response

In light of these developments, Qalibaf indicated that Iran is readying itself for such scenarios. He reassured the public that the enemy would not easily penetrate Iranian defenses, stating that missile strikes would persist and that Iranian forces are observing “fear and panic” among their opponents. He reiterated that any attempts by the US to force Iran into submission would be unsuccessful, declaring, “As long as they seek Iran’s surrender, the answer is clear – we will not accept humiliation.”

Framing the ongoing conflict as part of a broader geopolitical struggle, Qalibaf pledged that Iran would continue its full mobilization and military resistance. He warned that any attack against Iran would be met with retaliation substantial enough to compel the US to “regret” its actions. He also emphasized that the war would not conclude without a decisive outcome, stating that Iran would ensure its adversaries face consequences for their actions.

National Mobilization and Public Support Highlighted

The Iranian leader praised the nation’s widespread mobilization, noting that citizens from various sectors, including workers and artists, have rallied in support of the war effort, thereby strengthening Iran’s position. He urged the populace to remain engaged, characterizing public involvement as crucial for maintaining resistance against external threats.

Meanwhile, US military strategies indicate the significant risks associated with escalation. Any ground operation would expose American troops to drone and missile attacks, as well as determined resistance from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, especially in contentious areas like Kharg Island. Despite earlier uncertainty expressed by President Donald Trump regarding troop deployment, officials reveal that Washington is poised to escalate actions if diplomatic efforts falter. In response, Iran has warned that any assault on its territory will be met without limits, raising concerns that even restricted US ground operations could potentially spark a broader regional conflict.
