The recent meeting, chaired by Varanasi Divisional Commissioner S Rajalingam, focused on the upcoming event ‘Rangilo Kashi’, scheduled for September 19–20. This unique initiative, organised by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and NDDB Dairy Services (NDS), will take place at the BHU Helipad Ground in Varanasi. Officials from various departments attended to discuss farmer participation and necessary preparations.

During the meeting, representatives from the event provided insights into its objectives and activities aimed at comprehensively involving farmers. They emphasised that ‘Rangilo Kashi’ aims to connect farmers with experts, institutions, and entrepreneurs engaged in the dairy and agriculture sectors.

Commissioner Rajalingam encouraged officials to maximise farmer engagement through their respective departments. He highlighted the event as a significant opportunity for farmers to learn about new technologies, gain insights from experienced farmers and animal herders, and adopt successful agricultural practices in their own operations.

Key Activities and Highlights of the Event

One of the standout features of ‘Rangilo Kashi’ will be a live demonstration of milking champion cows and buffaloes set for September 18 at 4 pm. Farmers interested in observing the productivity of these elite animals will gain insights into advancements in the animal husbandry and dairy sectors.

Additionally, the event will host an extensive exhibition comprising approximately 200 stalls. These stalls will showcase a variety of products, services, and technological innovations related to dairy, agriculture, animal feed, and handicrafts. This broad range at the exhibition aims to foster knowledge transfer and innovation in the farming community.

Talk shows featuring progressive farmers and women entrepreneurs will also take place, allowing participants to share their experiences, innovations, and success stories. This segment is intended to inspire other farmers and encourage the adoption of entrepreneurial practices within the community.

Encouragement for Broad Participation

Commissioner Rajalingam reiterated the importance of widespread participation from farmers and animal herders at ‘Rangilo Kashi’. He called on all relevant departments to relay detailed information about the event to farmers affiliated with their sectors. The aim is to create a platform where knowledge, inspiration, innovation, and new opportunities converge for the agricultural community.

In addition to exhibitions and demonstrations, the event aims to facilitate direct interactions between farmers and technical experts. This interaction is expected to empower farmers with insights into successful and innovative practices currently being implemented across various fields.

‘Rangilo Kashi’ aspires to be a pioneering event, setting a precedent in the organisation of agricultural exhibitions in the region.
