NIA Conducts Searches in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir Over Unlawful Activities

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently executed searches at two locations in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on August 22. This operation is part of an ongoing investigation into a specific case. Officials confirmed that the searches were conducted in the Bijbehara and Dooru areas, utilising teams from the NIA alongside personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police.

During the execution of this operation, one NIA team focused its efforts in the SICOP area of Bijbehara. Simultaneously, a second team conducted a search in Kreeri village, situated in the Dooru area. While the operations were underway, officials have not yet provided detailed information regarding the specific nature of the investigation or any items that may have been seized.

In a related instance, the Baramulla Police recently secured an attachment order granted by the NIA Court in Sopore. The order pertains to a case registered at Police Station Chandoosa under various legal provisions, including the Egress and Internal Movement (Control) Ordinance, 2005, the Ranbir Penal Code, and the UAPA.

This attachment order specifically concerns a property measuring 12 Kanal 01 Marla and 73 square feet belonging to the accused, Parvaiz Ahmad Famda, situated in Kawhar Bala, Chandoosa. The assessed value of the property stands at approximately Rs 69,82,550.

Furthermore, in connection with the same case, Baramulla Police have also secured an arrest warrant against another individual, Abdul Rashid Bhat of Rajpora, Chandoosa. These measures illustrate the ongoing commitment of local authorities to enforce the law amidst rising concerns over unlawful activities in the area.
