NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam OMR Challenge Window Open Until July 15

The CSR Journal Magazine

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that candidates who participated in the NEET UG 2026 re-examination can challenge their recorded OMR responses. This important opportunity allows students to review their OMR answer sheets and contest any discrepancies. The re-examination took place on June 21, 2026, from 2 pm to 5.15 pm, and the NTA has now made the scanned copies of the answer sheets accessible on the official NEET website.

Details on Submission of Challenges

Candidates can submit their challenges regarding the recorded OMR responses from July 13 to July 15, 2026, with a deadline set for 11 am on the final day. Each challenge will incur a non-refundable fee of Rs 200, which can be paid through various online methods, including debit cards, credit cards, or net banking. It is crucial for candidates to ensure that their challenges are submitted within this timeframe, as any late submissions or those lacking the requisite processing fee will not be considered.

The NTA has uploaded the required documents on the NEET UG portal and sent a scanned copy of each OMR sheet to the respective registered email addresses of the candidates. To access their documents, candidates need to log in using their credentials. In a bid to bolster security, a two-factor authentication (2FA) with OTP verification has been introduced.

The NTA clarified that the current challenge window is exclusively for disputing the recorded OMR responses. It also emphasised that the process for contesting the answer key has already concluded, and no further objections related to it will be entertained.

Important Guidelines for Candidates

Before proceeding with a challenge, candidates are advised to thoroughly compare their scanned OMR sheets with the responses shown on the portal. The NTA has provided specific guidelines: only answers correctly darkened using a blue or black ballpoint pen will be accepted as valid. Furthermore, marking multiple options for a single question will be considered invalid and could lead to negative marking.

It is important to note that alterations to the responses marked on the OMR sheet are not permissible after submission. Overwriting, stray marks, or any sort of modification may affect the scanning process negatively. Candidates should also be aware that challenges based on OMR sheets found to be manipulated or tampered with will result in action being taken according to the unfair means regulations, which may include legal proceedings or disqualification.

Candidates can access the official NEET UG website to review their scanned OMR sheets and recorded responses. They are encouraged to submit their challenges within the given deadline and to consistently check the NTA website for the latest updates regarding the NEET UG examination process.
