NDA Confident of Victory in Tamil Nadu Elections, Piyush Goyal Claims

The CSR Journal Magazine

Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu – Union Minister Piyush Goyal expressed optimism regarding the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) securing a win in the forthcoming state assembly elections, which he believes will conclude the governance of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). Speaking with the media, Goyal asserted, “The NDA is poised to sweep the next election, ending the corrupt rule of the Stalin government.” He emphasized that the electorate in Tamil Nadu would not accept Udhayanidhi Stalin as Chief Minister, outlining the elections as a pivotal moment to preserve Tamil culture and integrity against alleged corrupt practices linked to the Stalin family.

Accusations of Corruption and Governance Failures

Goyal highlighted various accusations against the DMK administration, particularly mentioning a supposed scam involving TASMAC where he claimed Rs 50,000 crore had been siphoned from the treasury through corrupt means. He criticized the government’s management of contracts and raised concerns about the declining law and order situation in Tamil Nadu. “The people are fatigued with this government,” he stated, asserting that the NDA, under the leadership of Edappadi Palaniswami, would replace the current government.

Confidence in the NDA Coalition

Further elaborating on the strength of the NDA coalition, Goyal remarked that the alliance was stable and that it was the DMK that should be apprehensive about the upcoming elections. He dismissed claims of any internal discord within the NDA coalition, contrasting it against the DMK’s alleged issues with internal conflicts. “We operate as a family,” Goyal mentioned, indicating that any concerns regarding unity within the NDA should not be entertained.

Future Plans for Seat-Sharing Agreement

Goyal informed reporters that the NDA’s seat-sharing arrangement for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections would be reached amicably. He acknowledged ongoing discussions concerning the allocation of seats, stating, “These discussions are held privately, and details will be released to the press once everything is finalized.” The Union Minister reiterated that the alliance’s cohesion would pave the way for an effective transition in governance.

Welcoming Leadership and Addressing Allegations

As part of rally preparations, Goyal welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a significant public meeting in Tamil Nadu, conveying that the populace desires substantial change in governance to eradicate perceived corruption existing under the current administration. He condemned the leadership style of Udhayanidhi Stalin, labeling it as “anti-Tamil,” and underscored what he perceives to be a growing wave of support for the NDA, particularly with Modi at the national level and Palaniswami at the state level.

Critique of the Current Administration

Goyal did not shy away from criticizing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for what he termed “divisive politics.” He further inferred that the DMK has not fully endorsed Udhayanidhi Stalin’s leadership role, implying unrest within the party ranks. The stage is set for intense political discourse as Tamil Nadu approaches the assembly elections, with all eyes on the NDA’s impending strategies and the outcome of voter sentiments in the state.
