The CSR Journal Magazine

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav officially distributed scooties to more than 7,400 meritorious Class 12 students as part of the Mukhyamantri Scooty Yojana during a state-level event held in Bhopal on September 19. The ceremony took place at the Government Subhash Excellence Higher Secondary School, where the Chief Minister also took the opportunity to engage with students by viewing their artwork and interacting with them individually.

Symbolically, CM Yadav handed over scooties to select students during the event, while the remaining recipients were provided financial assistance to purchase either petrol-powered or electric scooters. The financial aid amounts to Rs 90,000 for petrol scooters and can reach Rs 1.20 lakh for electric models, aimed at supporting students in their academic journeys.

Details of the Financial Aid

During the distribution, CM Yadav explained the rationale behind the financial support. He noted that the initiative is designed to motivate top-performing students from government schools. Students are eligible for this scheme if they secure the first position in their schools with at least 70 per cent marks in their Class 12 exams, with these benefits extended to learners across all streams.

Yadav emphasised that this effort is not merely about providing transportation, but also about encouraging students to utilise their talents for the betterment of society. The introduction of scooters aims to foster educational engagement, helping students gear up for higher education while recognising their hard work and achievements in the academic sphere.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister highlighted the overall financial commitment of the programme, asserting that it represents a significant investment in the future of students in government schools. By establishing this financial framework, the government hopes to directly impact young learners’ aspirations and their capabilities to realise their academic ambitions.

Supporting Educational Success

In addition to the scooty initiative, CM Yadav reviewed other educational programmes implemented by the state government. He pointed out that, prior to the scooty distribution, the School Education Department and the Tribal Welfare Department successfully distributed laptops to 1.45 lakh students on September 1, further augmenting the government’s educational initiatives.

The Chief Minister noted that these various schemes are instrumental in building public confidence in the state government, highlighting how progressive education programmes are tailored to respond to the aspirations of the youth. Such initiatives, he claimed, contribute to an environment where students from government institutions now frequently outperform their peers in private schools during state board examinations.

Ultimately, the Mukhyamantri Scooty Yojana is aimed at fostering an educational climate that not only rewards academic excellence but also actively nurtures it. By recognising high-achieving students and offering tangible incentives, the initiative seeks to bolster student participation in education, ultimately paving the way for their continued advancement into higher studies and professional realms.
