Man Allegedly Slams 10-Year-Old Boy into Cement Drain in Lucknow

The CSR Journal Magazine

A disturbing video has emerged showing a man lifting a 10-year-old boy by the neck and forcefully slamming him into a cement drain in the Wazirganj area of Lucknow. The incident, recorded on CCTV, occurred on February 20, but the footage has recently gone viral on social media platforms. It highlights a serious act of violence involving a young child.

The video reveals the boy being lifted by an individual described as wearing a white T-shirt, who subsequently throws him onto the cemented surface. The impact reportedly rendered the child unconscious, raising immediate concerns about his wellbeing. This alarming behaviour has attracted widespread attention online and prompted calls for action against the perpetrator.

Details Surrounding the Attack

The boy was reportedly at a local mosque to offer prayers after breaking his fast during the holy month of Ramadan. Following the prayers, he was playing cricket with other children outside the mosque when the assailant, identified as a 22-year-old local man named Fahad, also known as Prince, approached the group. Eyewitnesses assert that he violently grabbed the boy before lifting and slamming him onto the ground.

CCTV footage clearly shows the sequence of events, depicting the man holding the child with one hand around his neck and another under his legs, before forcefully throwing him down. Following the assault, the alleged attacker walked away seemingly unbothered by his actions.

After the incident, the boy was initially taken home by Rashid, the uncle of the accused, along with women from his family. They informed the boy’s family that he had fainted while playing. However, the child’s condition deteriorated, leading to a visit to a hospital where doctors recommended further consultation with a neurosurgeon. The family later sought treatment at a private hospital in Indiranagar.

Family Takes Action Following Incident

Upon receiving alarming updates from other children who witnessed the incident, the child’s family began to understand the real circumstances surrounding the attack. The witnesses clarified that the boy had not merely fallen but had been deliberately lifted and thrown by Fahad. This vital information prompted the family to take immediate action.

The family subsequently filed a written complaint at the Wazirganj police station, inciting official intervention. Based on the submitted complaint, a case was reportedly registered against the assailant, bringing the incident to the attention of local law enforcement. The police are expected to pursue the matter with urgency in light of the severe implications for the child’s safety and wellbeing.

As investigations continue, community members and social media users alike are calling for justice and accountability for the actions displayed in the video. The footage raises questions about safety in public spaces, particularly for children, and highlights the importance of addressing such violent behaviour within society.
