Gwalior: Woman Who Vanished from Zoo Traced After 20 Days

The CSR Journal Magazine

An 18-year-old married woman went missing from outside the zoo in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, earlier this month. Her disappearance occurred while she was visiting the zoo with her husband. The police located her 20 days later, and she was reportedly unharmed. Investigations are now focusing on a man she was seen leaving with, raising questions about the circumstances of her disappearance.

The woman had been at the zoo with her husband, who had left her at the entrance to park his motorcycle. Upon his return, he discovered she was missing. CCTV footage later revealed that she had left the zoo riding pillion with another man, prompting her husband to file a complaint with the police.

Husband’s Concerns and Police Involvement

The couple, who reside in Shivpuri district, had visited the zoo at the woman’s request while in Gwalior to see relatives. After realising his wife was missing, her husband approached the police with his uncle to report the situation. He expressed suspicion that she may have eloped with a man identified in the CCTV footage as Armaan Khan.

The husband claimed that the two appeared to be in a relationship, which heightened his concerns. Following the filing of the complaint, the police initiated an investigation, reviewing the CCTV footage to gather more information on the woman’s whereabouts.

Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Robin Jain confirmed that a case was registered after the woman went missing. The police worked diligently to trace her, and their efforts ultimately led to her recovery. During questioning, the woman reportedly explained that she had lost her way and accepted a lift from the man seen in the footage.

Legal Proceedings and Future Steps

The police are currently investigating the details surrounding the woman’s disappearance, including the role of the man she was seen with. CSP Jain mentioned that, since the woman is an adult, she has the autonomy to make her own choices, provided she was not taken against her will. Her statement will be formally recorded before a court, which will help clarify the situation.

Further legal actions will be determined based on the facts that emerge from the investigation. The authorities aim to ensure that all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined, including the husband’s allegations and the woman’s account of her experience during the time she was missing.

This incident has raised various questions about safety and the dynamics of relationships, particularly in the context of young adults. The police are committed to resolving the case while respecting the rights and choices of the individuals involved.
