The CSR Journal Magazine

Actor John Abraham has confirmed that filming for Force 3 has commenced. This announcement was made through a promotional video shared on social media on Wednesday. Abraham revealed that the film is set for release in cinemas on 19th March 2027, while also introducing the cast and crew involved in this latest entry in the action franchise.

In his post, Abraham indicated the film’s action-packed nature with the phrase, “When the unstoppable meets the immovable, a storm is born. The Force is coming!” He tagged several cast members, including Harshvardhan Rane, Tanya Maniktala, Surya Sharma, and director Bhav Dhulia. The enthusiasm surrounding this announcement marks a new chapter for the franchise.

Harshvardhan Rane Takes Over Lead Role

In November 2025, Harshvardhan Rane disclosed that he would assume the leading role in the Force franchise, succeeding John Abraham. Rane made this announcement while sharing a photograph of himself at the Trimbakeshwar Temple in Maharashtra, dressed in traditional attire and reportedly performing prayers.

Rane expressed gratitude towards John Abraham for his support in this transition, stating, “John Abraham locks Harshvardhan Rane for taking ‘Force’ franchise forward, under him.” This endorsement from Abraham is significant, considering his prominent role in the previous films of the series, and suggests a seamless transition as the franchise evolves.

The casting decision appears to revitalise the series, as Rane brings his own fanbase and style to a role that has become synonymous with Abraham’s performances.

Legacy of the Force Franchise Continues

The Force franchise began in 2011 with the release of the first film, directed by Nishikant Kamat. This film was a remake of the Tamil hit Kaakha Kaakha and starred Abraham alongside Genelia Deshmukh. The film garnered attention for its intense action sequences and compelling narrative, contributing to the franchise’s popularity.

Following the success of the original, a sequel, Force 2, was released in 2016. Directed by Abhinay Deo, this instalment featured Abraham reprising his role alongside actors Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin, thereby cementing the series as a staple in Bollywood’s action genre.

With the onset of Force 3, there is a sense of anticipation around how the franchise will develop further. It aims to combine a fresh cast with the established legacy that fans have come to appreciate, ensuring that the action-packed universe continues to expand.
