An Indian national, Vishu Sharma, aged 25, was fatally stabbed in Frankfurt, Germany, in an incident reportedly involving three suspects. Originally from Kurukshetra, Haryana, Vishu had relocated to Germany after completing his service with the French Army.

The family received news of Vishu’s death on the morning of August 10, 2026, a day after their last communication.

Vishu Sharma had travelled to Portugal in November 2022, for which his family sold a property to finance the move, spending approximately Rs 20 lakh. Following his time in Portugal, he moved to France, underwent six months of military training, and subsequently served in the French Army for around a year.

After leaving the military, Vishu established a career in Germany’s delivery sector. Reports indicate he had also developed a team for his work and employed several individuals under his supervision, demonstrating his commitment to building a livelihood in his new country.

Plans were in place for Vishu to return to India around the time of Diwali. His family was eagerly anticipating his visit, particularly his sister, who was excited about celebrating Raksha Bandhan with him and had been promised a ring as a gift for the occasion.

The sudden loss of Vishu Sharma has plunged his family into shock. They are currently working to complete the necessary formalities to repatriate his body back to Kurukshetra for the final rites.
