Indian Railways Launches Special Trains Between Jodhpur and Chennai

The CSR Journal Magazine

Indian Railways has announced the operation of special train services between Jodhpur and Chennai Beach to accommodate the increased flow of passengers during the busy travel season. These trains will operate on selected dates in June and July 2026, offering additional travel options for those journeying between Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.

The special trains aim to ease pressure on the regular train services, which often become fully booked during peak travel times, especially weekends and holiday periods. With this initiative, passengers will have a chance to secure confirmed tickets more efficiently.

Details of the Special Train No. 04815

The first service, designated as Train No. 04815, will run from Jodhpur to Chennai Beach on Saturdays. The train is set to commence its journey from Jodhpur on five specific dates: June 27, July 4, July 11, July 18, and July 25, 2026.

Departure from Jodhpur is scheduled for 9:20 PM, with arrival at Chennai Beach expected at 8:00 PM the following Monday. This timing is designed to enable ease of travel for passengers, allowing them to reach their destination in a timely manner.

Major halts along this route include several key railway stations, such as Merta Road, Jaipur, Kota, and stations in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh, ensuring a comprehensive travel network for passengers.

Details of the Special Train No. 04816

In addition to Train No. 04815, there will be a return service, Train No. 04816, operating from MGR Chennai Central to Jodhpur every Tuesday. This special train will also run on five designated dates: June 30, July 7, July 14, July 21, and July 28, 2026.

This train will depart Chennai Central at 5:15 PM and is set to arrive in Jodhpur at 8:30 PM on Thursday. Similar to its counterpart, it will also stop at various important stations, providing essential connectivity for passengers travelling to and from both regions.

Stations along this route include Nayudupeta, Vijayawada, Warangal, and others, thereby facilitating a vital link between southern and northern India during a time when many are travelling for tourism, business, or family visits.

Target Passengers and Booking Information

The introduction of these special trains is anticipated to benefit a wide range of passengers, including students crossing from North to South India, tourists visiting popular destinations in both states, and business professionals travelling for work. Additionally, families are expected to make good use of these services, particularly during the summer and monsoon travel seasons.

Passengers are encouraged to verify seat availability and train schedules via official railway booking platforms before planning their journeys. Due to the anticipated high demand for these special services, early booking is recommended.

This initiative by Indian Railways is expected to offer significant relief to passengers during one of the busiest travel periods of the year. By maintaining its commitment to enhancing connectivity, especially between diverse regions like Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu, it aims to improve the overall travel experience for countless individuals and families.
