A tragic domestic dispute turned fatal in Kokapet on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Thursday night, when a woman allegedly stabbed her husband to death following a heated argument.
The couple, identified as Bharak Bora and Krishna Jyoti Bora, had migrated from Assam to Hyderabad in search of work and were employed as daily wage laborers in the Kokapet area. According to police sources, the couple had a history of frequent quarrels, reportedly due to the husband’s ongoing harassment of his wife.
Argument leads to Murder
The incident took place around midnight. An argument between the two reportedly escalated when the husband, after the dispute, went to sleep. In a fit of rage, Krishna Jyoti allegedly picked up a vegetable cutting knife and attacked her sleeping husband. Some reports state that she slit his throat, while others suggest she stabbed him multiple times.
Hearing the man’s screams, neighbors rushed to the house and found Bharak lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment due to excessive bleeding.
Accused under Custody
Upon being alerted, Narsingi Police reached the scene, inspected the premises, and took Krishna Jyoti into custody. The victim’s body was shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem examination, and a case of murder has been registered.
Police officials have launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the exact sequence of events. Initial inquiries suggest a long-standing troubled relationship between the two, marked by regular verbal and physical disputes.

Authorities are also speaking to neighbors and acquaintances to gather more background information. Krishna Jyoti is currently in police custody and is likely to be produced before a magistrate soon.
This incident adds to the growing concerns over domestic violence and mental health among migrant labor populations living in challenging conditions with limited support systems.
