HiLITE Group Launches YOO Hub Trivandrum, Creating 5,000 Jobs in Kerala

HiLITE Group officially introduced its latest venture, YOO Hub Trivandrum, with a ceremonial groundbreaking event held at Technopark Phase III on February 1, 2025. This initiative, which represents an investment of Rs 300 crore, aims to transform the technology landscape in Kerala while generating approximately 5,000 direct employment opportunities.

The ceremony featured P. K. Kunhalikutty, the Minister for Industries, IT, and AI, who highlighted the significance of this project in boosting Kerala’s reputation as a key player in technology and innovation. He expressed optimism about the employment prospects the hub will create and its potential impact on the state’s digital economy.

The event also included various dignitaries and stakeholders from the technology sector, showcasing the collaborative spirit aimed at enhancing Kerala’s positioning in the IT landscape. This groundbreaking marks a critical step for the state’s ongoing efforts to attract global brands and investments.

Significance of the YOO Hub Initiative

YOO Hub Trivandrum stands as India’s inaugural branded IT space, developed through a partnership with YOO and IWG. P. Sulaiman, Chairman of HiLITE Group, underscored the project’s role in attracting foreign investment and creating an environment conducive to business growth. He emphasised that this initiative is not merely about constructing a building but constitutes a strategic investment in the state’s future.

Sandip Kumar IAS, CEO of Technopark, mentioned that the addition of 5.37 lakh square feet of premium Grade-A IT space is timely, given the rising market demand for such infrastructure. He accentuated the need for high-quality premises to secure the presence of multinational companies and foster Kerala’s rapid technological advancements.

Ajil Muhammed, CEO of HiLITE Group, echoed these sentiments, recognising the existing talent pool in Kerala. He pointed out the necessity to bridge the gap in world-class infrastructure to meet the expectations of global enterprises.

Design and Sustainability Features of YOO Hub

Spanning approximately 1.88 acres, YOO Hub Trivandrum will include a Basement, Ground Floor, two dedicated parking levels, and 15 premium office floors designed to accommodate multinational companies and emerging digital enterprises. The development’s structure aims to establish a seamless business ecosystem that aligns with modern work trends.

In alignment with sustainability goals, the project has attained LEED v4.1 BD+C Platinum level pre-certification, an accolade reflecting the design’s commitment to environmental sustainability. This certification, awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council, affirms YOO Hub’s intention to set new benchmarks for sustainable development in the region.

The introduction of this advanced workspace, guided by YOO’s design standards, aims to enhance workplace experiences, combining aesthetic considerations with functional demands. According to John Hitchcox, Chairman of YOO, the project represents a commitment to creating world-class environments tailored to the needs of contemporary businesses.
