Faridabad-based University Al-Falah University has been under national scrutiny scanner for its alleged links suicide bombers involved in the Red Fort blast on November 10, the University received a show-cause notice from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) two days after the blast for displaying long-expired accreditation grades on its website, this included “A Grade” for its engineering college since 2013 and another accreditation for its teacher education school that dated back to 2011. It is to be noted that NAAC grades are valid for only five years.

What explanation did Al-Falah University give?
As per the two senior NAAC officials, the University has submitted the reply, and apologised for the outdated claims and blamed ‘oversight’ and ‘website-design errors’ and called the lapse unintentional. As per one of the officials, the University submitted a long explanation and confirmed that the page has been removed. Calling the justification ‘not entirely straightforward’, one of the officials said that the University has blamed the old web pages that weren’t updated and staff members handling the website.
There is no such punitive action that is being considered, said one official. But, added that NAAC has issued similar notices to nearly 25 other institutions who are using expired or misleading accreditation information. As per the 2018 advisory, NAAC had advised to stop using misrepresenting accreditation grades, this might call for “stringent action.”
NAAC accreditation related notice was given to the University just 2 days after the blast, after the investigators found links of many doctors at Al-Falah Medical College to the Red Fort blast. University was put under radder after enforcement and regulatory bodies widened their probes.
