Dhamaal 4 Achieves Significant Box Office Success on Day Two

The CSR Journal Magazine

Dhamaal 4, featuring Ajay Devgn, demonstrated remarkable growth at the box office, achieving a significant milestone on its second day of release. According to preliminary figures from the trade platform Sacnilk, the film accumulated Rs 22.50 crore nett in India on Saturday, marking a 60.7 per cent increase from its opening day earnings of Rs 14 crore.

This surge has brought the film’s total net collection in India to Rs 36.50 crore within just two days. Additionally, the film’s gross revenue in India now stands at Rs 43.80 crore, indicating a strong audience reception.

Dhamaal 4 also performed well internationally, grossing approximately Rs 5 crore on its second day. With this addition, the film’s overseas gross has reached Rs 10 crore, propelling its total global earnings to Rs 53.80 crore within a mere two days of its theatrical run.

Improved Audience Engagement

The occupancy rates for Dhamaal 4 improved significantly throughout the day on Saturday. Sacnilk reported an overall occupancy rate of 37.29 per cent across 10,954 shows. These figures reflected a consistent rise in audience numbers, starting from 12.77 per cent in the morning, increasing to 33.92 per cent by the afternoon, climbing to 43.77 per cent in the evening, and peaking at 58.69 per cent during the night screenings.

The film’s traction at the box office was notable despite the presence of several competing titles, which include Akshay Kumar’s Welcome To The Jungle, Alia Bhatt’s Alpha, the Telugu action drama Lenin, and Hollywood releases such as Evil Dead Burn and the live-action Moana. Nevertheless, the comedy has sustained its positive momentum heading into its opening weekend.

The film, directed by Indra Kumar, continues to attract audiences, showcasing the enduring appeal of the franchise, which has maintained most of its original cast alongside several new actors.

Critical Reception

The core cast features Ajay Devgn in the lead role as Guddu, alongside Sanjay Mishra, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, and Jaaved Jaaferi. New faces in the film include Anjali Anand, Ravi Kishan, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Esha Gupta. However, the review suggested that these additions did not enhance the overall plot, which struggled to engage audiences meaningfully.

Despite the criticisms, the film’s franchise legacy and comedic elements seem to resonate with viewers, as reflected in its box office success. With multiple factors influencing its theatre performance and audience engagement, Dhamaal 4 remains a notable entry in the contemporary Indian film landscape.
