The University of Delhi has issued a notice addressing concerns regarding the submission of altered admission documents by candidates applying for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The university highlights that numerous applicants have allegedly uploaded documents that are AI-generated or digitally modified, raising significant concerns about the integrity of the admission process.

In the formal communication, the university underscores the necessity for all candidates to submit authentic documents. It expressly states that scanned copies must be accurate representations of the original certificates, mark sheets, and identity proofs without any form of digital alteration or editing.

To enforce these guidelines, Delhi University plans to implement advanced verification techniques to identify any manipulated documentation. The institution reiterates that non-compliance with the established protocols may lead to immediate rejection of a candidate’s application.

Consequences of Non-Compliance

The university’s notice clarifies that if any applicant is discovered to have employed fraudulent or AI-altered documents at any point during the admission process, their registration will be annulled without prior notice. Additionally, the university reserves the right to pursue legal action against such candidates.

Furthermore, the notice emphasises that no fees will be refunded to individuals whose applications are rejected on these grounds. This policy reinforces the university’s commitment to maintaining a fair admission process and upholding its standards.

Candidates are advised to conduct themselves in accordance with these regulations to ensure a smooth admission experience and prevent unintended disqualifications. The implementation of these measures aims to strengthen the credibility of the admission framework at the university.

Current Admission Statistics for 2026

The university has also indicated that payment links for an additional 33,383 applications have been generated, allowing more candidates to progress in the admission process. In terms of postgraduate programmes, 10,248 candidates have successfully secured their placements thus far.

To address remaining vacancies, the university has announced that Spot Round I will commence on July 25, 2026. This initiative aims to facilitate the admission of additional candidates into the available seats for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
