CRPF Jawaan Kills Woman Police Officer in Gujarat, Surrenders Next Day

The CSR Journal Magazine

A shocking case of alleged domestic violence surfaced in Gujarat’s Kutch district, where a woman police officer was reportedly murdered by her live-in partner. The victim, 25-year-old Assistant Sub-Inspector Aruna Natubhai Jadav, was found dead in her Anjar residence after being allegedly strangled by her partner, a CRPF constable named Dilip Dangachiya.

CRPF Jawan Surrenders After Killing Woman Cop

Authorities revealed that the crime took place late on Friday night, but it wasn’t until Saturday morning that Dangachiya surrendered himself at Anjar Police Station — the same station where the deceased officer was posted. He confessed to the killing, prompting police to open a murder case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Mukesh Chaudhary, “Aruna and Dileep came in contact in 2021 through Instagram. They were in a live-in relationship. They had a fight at 10 pm on Friday night. He strangled her to death.” Police believe that the argument escalated when the two were at home together.

Where was Victim from?

Aruna originally hailed from Surendranagar but was living in Gangotri Society-2 in Anjar during her posting. Her accused partner, Dangachiya, serves with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and is currently posted in Manipur. He is also a native of a village near Aruna’s hometown.

Investigators said that the couple had been in a relationship for several years and were living together since 2021. They reportedly planned to get married in the near future, but tensions between them had been rising.

Argument Over Personal Remarks May Have Triggered Murder: Police

One version of the incident suggests that the fatal quarrel may have stemmed from Aruna allegedly making remarks about Dangachiya’s mother. However, police are still verifying these claims and collecting further evidence.

With a murder case now officially registered, the accused remains in custody while further investigation is underway. The case has reignited concern over rising intimate partner violence and the vulnerability of women, even in positions of authority.
