One97 Communications Limited (OCL) which owns the brand Paytm, India’s leading payments and financial services company and the pioneer of QR and mobile payments, announced that its CSR arm, Paytm Foundation, has donated 100 laptops to girls’ government schools under the Directorate of School Education, Jammu, in an event held at Government Higher Secondary School, Mubarak Mandi on 29 May 2023. Paytm Foundation has been supporting education and bridging the digital gap in the country, as well as ensuring the empowerment of girls in Jammu.
Paytm Foundation has distributed these laptops to 4 government schools – Government Girls Higher Senior Secondary School (GGHSS) Mubarak Mandi, GGHSS Kathua, Higher Secondary School Girls Kishtwar, and GGHSS Resai, to set up computer labs. This event was graced by Director of School Education, Jammu – Shri Ashok Kumar Sharma and the Chief Education Officer, Jammu – Shri Suraj Singh Rathore.
With the continuation of this initiative, Paytm Foundation aims to empower over 4,000 girls to help them progress academically and expand their horizons. It will help them to have a wide range of learning opportunities, access to education materials, engage in interactive learning sessions, and improve their basic computer skills.
